Hypebeast Flea New York Vendor Spotlight: Sundae Sauuce

Ahead of Hypebeast Flea New York on May 18 and 19, Hypebeast is spotlighting each of the event’s more than 30 vendors by giving an overview of their practice, their inspirations, and what they plan to bring to the event. Hypebeast Flea New York is free to attend — RSVP HERE

Music, events and ice cream are the key ingredients of Sundae Sauuce’s unique multipurpose event platform, one that caters to upcoming artists through a series of all-are-welcome get-togethers with music supplied by some of Brooklyn’s finest DJs — and promotion of releases from independent artists. In their own words, they’re all about “breaking bread” between artists and fans. After all, good music and good ice cream make everything better.

Explain your brand to people who may not know you yet.

Sundae Sauuce is a music label and event series based in Brooklyn that fosters community through music, events, and, of course, ice cream. We’ve thrown events at venues all over Brooklyn, like Elsewhere, Baby’s All Right and Jolene Sound Room, and we also have an event series inside OddFellows Ice Cream.

What about New York inspires you the most?

The overall sense of hustle and community. Whenever we venture off to other cities, we feel that there’s more of a desire to network, rather than build community and protect the culture. Plus it’s not an easy place to make it so people who are doing their thing are really good at it.

What have you got planned at Hypebeast Flea?

We just want to showcase some local dj’s, supply good vibes for the flea, and meet a bunch of local makers.

What other vendors are you looking forward to checking out at Hypebeast Flea?

To be honest I’m looking forward to exploring as so many of the vendors look really unique. Along with getting to know them and chatting with them in person.
